My first big trip after settling in Brisbane was to the beloved city of Sydney! Here I met up with Zahra, my good friend from Ottawa who had just moved to Sydney to begin studying. Together we embraced being tourists, taking in all Sydney had to offer – the famous Sydney Oprah House, sunset over the Harbour Bridge, a ferry ride to Manly Beach, and beach walks along the famous Bondi beach. I enjoyed watching the dedicated and brave surfers who despite the cold and rainy winter weather were in the water each day. We even climbed 1,332 steps, walking on the arch over the top of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge where we had a spectacular 360 degree panorama view of the city.
To finish off my time In Sydney, I caught up with some Australian friends from my recent trip to Europe, sharing a meal along with stories of our recent travel adventures.
Despite the weather I enjoyed all Sydney had to offer and had a great time catching up with friends!
